Mera Peak 6654m is the highest trekking peak of Nepal, which is a non-technical climbing peak but still caters so much thrilling funs while conquering it. Located in the northeast region of Himalayas of Nepal Mera peak climbing adventure gives you great opportunity to get high altitude experience in a relatively shorter time. Few days of trekking to Mera Base Camp via challenging, Mera-La Pass and exceptionally beautiful Hinku valley is a great trekking experience.

The adventure of Climbing Mera Peak begins from Lukla. The same day the expedition to conquer Mera begins. As you begin to gain altitude, make sure your body can digest high altitude before you enter Hinku Valley via elevated Teng La Pass 4600m. Savor the breath taking views of twin peaks Kusum Kangru and Lumba Sumba Glaciers during the magnificent walk along the wilderness of Hinku valley until you arrive to Ghotar via Thule Kharka. Gain more elevation and arrive to the Mera Base Camp at Khare.

Acclimatize well before you cross over the elevated Pass Mera La 5415m to get into the lower Base Camp of Mera at 5,300m. Make a move to the last camp before climbing Mera Peak, which lies somewhere around Dig Glaciers. On a clear weather window, follow the instructions of your climbing leader and summit the Mera Peak. Feel proud to stand on the Mera summit, and savor the most beautiful vista of peaks including Mt. Everest, Makalu and several others looming right before your eyes. The latter half of Mera Peak Climbing Adventure drops down to Khare and retraces the trial back to Lukla.

Before Base Camp to mera peak as a local responsible trek agency and sustainable tourism we use local Sherpa owned mountain guest house to stay and catering. We stay full support tented camp with mattress and hygienic high altitude catering service, back support 24 hours by our staff and climbing Sherpa above base camp. For safety precaution we always carry life saver oxygen with the mask with medical kit for first aid with good communication service. Before climbing the Mera Peak our experience Sherpa will demonstrate you how to climb, the high altitude techniques and use the Mera Peak Climbing gears. That make more confidence for you to get summit of Mera Peak. From the summit of Mera Peak you will able to capture iconic view of 8000 meters Himalayas, Mt. Everest – 8848m, Lhotse – 8516m, Mt. Day 1:

Arrive Airport – transfer to Hotel.
In airport, our staff welcome you and transfer to Hotel. Evening short walk around the city and overnight at Hotel.

Day 2:

Kathmandu & city tour. Breakfast and Hotel only.
Breakfast, Kathmandu sightseeing, meet your tour guide and he will show you some highlights of UNESCO places in kathmandu, You will visit Patan City (a old kingdom Bhadgoan and oldest town Kirtipur) and mera peak trek preparation, permit and free time, hotel. B/B plan.

Day 3:

Trek from Lukla to Chuttanga. (3215m) 5-6hrs.B/L/D.
Morning flight to Lukla from kathmandu domestic airport, flight with incredible mountain views north to the Himalayan Range. Lukla is gate-way to the Everest region. Meet our crew in there and begin walk to Chuttanga is quite short but its 4 hours ascent through the forest to Chuttanga. Guest House. B/L/D.

Day 4:

Hiking from Chuttange to Chattra (4100m.) 6-7hrs. B/L/D.
It almost like yesterday and except you get some downhill as well along the forest. You start the morning with 3 to 4 hour ascent to pass of Chattra La at 4290m (La means pass). From the pass you can enjoy the iconic mountain views before your 2 hour descent to Chattra camp.

Day 5:

Chhatra – Kothe ( 3490m) 5-6hrs. B/L/D.
This morning you start off with some downhill. The walking trail descends for about 5 hours through mixed forest down to the river valley. From here you ascend again for about 1 hour, following the river all the way to Kothe. You will see good mountain views today as well and you get your first view of Mera peak.

Day 6:

Kothe – Thagnak (4140m) 5-6hrs. B/L/D.
From Kothe, the trail follows the river upward all the way to Thagnak, Is a small mountain place with few guest house, our stop for the night. Along the way you have amazing views of Mera Peak, Mera La Glacier as well as the surrounding majestic mountains. Small Sherpa village and you can have fun learning more about Sherpa culture here with traditional sherpa stew (soup)

Day 7:

Rest day for acclimatization. B/L/D.
A rest morning, you dont need to pack your things again, today is for letting your bodies rest and acclimatize. If you are feeling good and like to get active in the himalayas, you could go for an acclimatization walk, or explore the village with the scenic view of Himalayas.

Day 8:

Thagnak – Khare (4415m) 5-6hrs. B/L/D.
Today’s trail is all going up to Kharka. You ascend for about 2 hours to Di Kharka and then you have a small steep climb, about 2 hours to Khare. To take your mind off the ascent, you have amazing views of Mera Peak, Kusum Kangaru and many more mountain range to the deep valley. A good day to enjoy being in the alpine zone and get a good rest at your overnight stop in Khare.

Day 9:

Rest day in Khare for acclimatization. B/L/D.
Today is another day for rest before ascending to high summit and let your body adjust to the altitude. Use the time to check your climbing gear or do a day hike from Khare.

Day 10:

Khare – Mera La Base Camp (4915m) 4-5hrs. B/L/D.
It is about one hour rocky mountain walk and some time we may need to use ropes for few steps climb if there are some ice or ice block to Mera La. It is fully tented camp accommodation and our camping crew prepare food and fixed tent. About 5 hours trek.

Day 11:

Mera La – High Camp(5465m) 5-6hrs. B/L/D.
From here it’s gradual uphill climb to high camp. On this day you will have magnificent mountain view including world’s highest Mt. Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Cho-oyu and other mountain ranges. When you getting more high the view are more wider.

Day 12:

High Camp – Mera Peak 6654m- Khare (4415m) 8-9hrs .B/L/D.
This morning, we start summit climb to Mera early in the morning, with the ascent taking about 5 or 6 hours. The last 100 meters is steep climb to the summit on top of Mera Peak. From top, you will have 360 degree magnificent views to the surrounding mountains higher and lower than it. After taking your photos and getting your breath back, you return back down all the way to Khare, which is a longest day of the expedition. You need to walk straight down hill.

Day 13:

Khare trek to Kothe. Kothe( 3490m) 5-6hrs. B/L/D.
Easy morning after the climbing, we cross small pass uphill and descend down along the same route, rocky trail and step downhill. It is up and down trail and enter Dudh koshi valey.

Day 14:

Kothe to Chattra (4100m.) 6-7hrs. B/L/D.
Today you retrace the trail to Chattra, all the way descent down and down along the pine forest, rhododendron forest, loose stone rocky trail. We left the Mera mountain back and getting close to Lukla. Best view of Mt. Kongde and dudh Koshi valley with Lukla bazaar. Trekking time, approx 7 hours.

Day 15:

Chattra to Lukla (2800m) 4 to 5 hours. B/L/D.
Today you retrace the trail to Lukla and, as this will be the last time you see some of your crew, you will no doubt have a party to celebrate a successful expedition.

Day 16:

Lukla to Kathmandu. Breakfast and Hotel.
This morning you will board the Lukla flight again, this time bound for Kathmandu, free time hotel.

Day 17:

Free morning in kathmandu, breakfast and final depart – transfer to airport.

I did the ABC trek with Bashu and it was just fantastic! Bashu is fluent in English and German and had in depth knowledge on all related questions that our group had on our trek. I will certainly come back to Nepal again and would book another trip with him in a heartbeat!

Last December 2015/January 2016 we made the 18 days EBC trek, together with guide Kumar of Nepal Footprint Holidays and our porter Sudeep. Both great guys!! We had a marvellous time and food and lodges were a perfect arrangement! Chitwan was a hell of a ride, but worth it. Parkland Hotel in Chitwan was 100 % the right choise!

Nepal Footprint might be a small company but nevertheless excellent! 10/10 we would contact them again for the ABC trek Annapurna in the future!!

I went several time in Nepal and I always take Nepal Footprint Holidaz Trek. Everything was amazing every time and I can not advise some one to go with an other agency.
