Trails of Jiri Everest Base Trek and the Tenzing – Hillary Everest Expedition trek route is probably the most popular and classic trekking route of Himalayas in Nepal.

This adventurous trek to Everest Region begins with bustling bus ride to Shivalaya via Jiri.  As this oldest version of Everest Base camp Trek kicks off trekkers, walk through incredible mountain landscapes of Nepal, crossing few Himalayan rivers by suspension bridges, tropical Sherpa lands and all the way to the Base Camp of Everest – the world’s summit. Countless ups and downs, through elevated mountainous rhododendron forest into the fascinating villages of the Tamang, Jirel, Rai, Chetri and Sherpa who occupied majority of villages – the Everest Base Camp from Jiri adds more adventures in trendy Everest Base Camp Trek.

The trails of Jiri to Everest Base Camp follow the historical footsteps of Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary who were the first conquerors of Mt. Everest 8848m in 1953. Treading through the trails of sub-tropical forests in Nepalese mid-hill the trek goes to Namche Bazaar, the capital of the Sherpas. The walk over the glacial moraines to Everest Base Camp, the hike to Kalapatthar, a vantage point for the Everest view and its neighboring peaks are undoubted the biggest highlights of Everest Base Camp Trek. The Trek also caters breathtaking landscapes of Everest Region and encounters fascinating Buddhist culture in highland monasteries of Khumbu, experience the warm hospitality of the Sherpas and have witnesses wide floral and faunal biodiversity of Sagarmatha National Park.

Enjoy the oldest route to Everest Base Camp with us and experience the exact walking journey to the Everest Base Camp, which was experienced by Tenzing and Hillary in 1953.

I did the ABC trek with Bashu and it was just fantastic! Bashu is fluent in English and German and had in depth knowledge on all related questions that our group had on our trek. I will certainly come back to Nepal again and would book another trip with him in a heartbeat!

Last December 2015/January 2016 we made the 18 days EBC trek, together with guide Kumar of Nepal Footprint Holidays and our porter Sudeep. Both great guys!! We had a marvellous time and food and lodges were a perfect arrangement! Chitwan was a hell of a ride, but worth it. Parkland Hotel in Chitwan was 100 % the right choise!

Nepal Footprint might be a small company but nevertheless excellent! 10/10 we would contact them again for the ABC trek Annapurna in the future!!
