How to Trek Mardi Himal?
The Mardi Himal Trek is a relatively less touristic hiking destination in Annapurna Region nearby Pokhara. The trek begins after a short drive from Pokhara to Kande or Phedi. The trek is short and a moderate hike goes up to 4,440m from 900m. It is just a perfect trek for a week-long adventure holiday. The trek is located East from Annapurna Base Camp and North from Pokhara.
Fixed departure trek to Mardi Himal in 2023 – Below option
The 12 days of trek goes along the Annapurna Base Camp Route via Dhampus or Australian Camp, and Pothana to Deurali. After that, follow the forest trail to Forest Camp slowly step up. The next day, keep continuing trek to Low Camp which is a fantastic day in forest. Overlooking Mardi Himal and Mountain Range with the Glory of sunshine, Evening sunset in Mt. Fishtail and Pokhara valley is memorable. Another day, you will hike up to Mardi High Camp which is our final goal and most important day during the trek. You will reach the highest point of this trek 4,440m. After that keep walking through the village Siding, Lwang and Khora Muk are popular traditional Gurung/Magar Villages where you can view 100 years of their culture and lifestyle.
Best time for Mardi Himal Trek
This trek is one of the short treks in Nepal and it goes up to 4,400m Mardi Himal Base Camp only. It means the trek can be done all the time of the year. Autumn and Spring season are the best time to trek Mardi Himal. During this period, the weather and temperature are mostly clean, clear and stable, and the forests are colorful and give a wonderful view of the Himalayas. However, it is not really recommended during the Monsoon and Winter seasons. Although, some people choose this time as well who want to avoid more crowds and love to hike lonely.
