    How to Reach Gokyo Lake

    We start our Gokyo Lake Trek from Kathmandu to Lukla via flight which is of (35min) approximately. You can observe the scenic view of mountains  from the flight. After landing in Lukla, you’ll trek towards Phakding. From Phakding,  you will travel across the wonder lust route in Everest region to Namche Bazar. Namche Bazar (3,450m) is the most popular destination in the Everest Region. From Namche Bazar you will trek forward to Dole, the trail is simple. You’ll be moving through areas shaded by lovely trees. You will be hiking uphill from Dole to Macchermo, and you are one step closer to the destination “Gokyo Lake”.

    After 4-5 hours of hiking from Macchermo you’ll finally arrive at our destination – Gokyo Lake. The unique terrain and and a wonderful trail is what Gokyo Valley Trek makes it unforgettable. Early in the morning, you will hike from Gokyo Valley towards “Gokyo Ri” (5,357m) to observe the sun rays kissing the world’s highest mountain (Mount Everest) in the world. The mesmerizing view from the Gokyo Ri is what you take home with you from this amazing Gokyo Lake Trek. After having good time at the viewpoint, you will hike back to Macchermo. From Macchermo, you will ascend towards Namche Bazar, the home of Khumbu Region. From Namche, you will hike to Lukla to catch a flight back to Kathmandu.

    Best Time to visit Gokyo

    For the greatest trekking experience, visit Gokyo Valley in the Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November). The likelihood of bright skies and pleasant daytime temperatures throughout these months is high.

    Permits to Gokyo Lake

    You’ll need a TIMS and Sagarmatha National Park permit to trek in this park. The Sagarmatha National Park, is a World Natural Heritage site.
