    Helambu Trekking – Short and easy treks in Nepal that offer vibrant Hylmo cultural, pilgrimage and mid-hill hiking experience of Ama Yangri Peak that follows ancient Buddhist philosophy. The Helambu trek is a great way to peep into the typical rural culture of Nepal and savor the magnificence of the Tibetan – Hylmo Buddhism gallery. It is a soft adventurous trek in Nepal enclosed to the Langtang Helambu Trekking route towards to Shivapuri National Park.

    Helambu valley trek is the land of the goddess, medication place of famous Tantrik guru Milarepa, the home of snow cover fertility in the Himalayas and peaceful Buddhist temples and followers from generation. Ama Yangri peak is mother goddess of Helambu valley that offer picturesque view of Himalayas and the colorful Buddhist prayer flags on the hill looks so attractive.

    TRIP ITINERARY

    Kathmandu Arrival and Hotel in Bhaktapur, A UNESCO City, transfer to Hotel and walk around the city and temples, pagodas, evening welcome dinner. B/B plan.

    It is warm-up tour that introducing the highlight of Kathmandu, tradition, culture and hot spots etc.

    Today, We enter Shivapuri National Park, uphill walk to Mulkharka village via forest walk and waterfall. A short rest in Mulkhara where we can have soft drinks or some snacks. Then continue uphill to Borlang Bhangyang about 2600m hike. On the way we can see great Kathmandu valley and after the pass, beautiful horizon of Helambu area. Short walk down to Chisapani. Chisapani hill station is a part of Kathmandu Valley trek. Stopping in local lodge.

    After breakfast our helambu culture trek begin. At first hour we walk down to Pati Bhangyang. It was old local market place. But now only village and local school. Then easy walk to Thakune Bhangyang and we climb another hour to chuplung Danda where Tamang village and Buddhist culture. After another hour climb We reach top of Chiplung Dada and make lunch there. After that we keep continue walk to Gol Bhangyang along the ridge. This is one of the beautiful trail of helambu trek section. We cross many small villages and school. Again another hour climb and short down hike we reach kutungsang village. It is small beautiful village where we used local guest house.

    This morning if weather is good we can see great sunrise view of Mountain and Valley. Ahead climbing day for us to Thadapati. Today we need to climb more then 1000 meter. First we enter Langtang National Park and uphill hike into the forest we reach sano Ghopte where only one tea shop. Stop for short drinks and view, then continue hike to Magin Goath Deurali. There we will have lunch and next 2 hour continue trek to Thadapati. Thadapati is highest point of our helambu culture trek. 3400m. From there we can see Mountain sunset and sunrise view with whole helambu valley and part of langtang gosainkunda trek. A bit cold night and windy evening. Spend night in local guest house.

    Trekking to Tarkyaghang via Melamchi Goan explore village and monastery sightseeing.

    After view of Mountain and Sunrise our trek turn down to Melamchi goan village, All the way down to 2 hours. A beautiful village we can visit some buddhist monastery and school then continue down to Melamchi river. Cross river by suspension bridge and next 2 hours climb to Tarkya Ghyang village. We need to climb less then down. Tarkya Ghyang is one of most famous village during our helambu trek. Visit monastery and village is best experience. Stay on local guest house.

    Today we walk to Sarmangthang village the biggest village of Helambu circuit trek. along the way visit some famous Monastery. Make lunch in Sarmang Thang then take a hike to Ama Yangri Hill for Mountain sunset view. A mother goddess of Helambu People.

    After breakfast, our last day trekking goes to Melamchi bazaar at the bottom of Melamchi river. It is a junction of local market. Cross suspension bridge then drive to Kathmandu by Private or local bus. Hotel transfer in Kathmandu.

    Final morning breakfast, transfer to onward destination or extend to tour further.

    How to Reach Helambu

    The Helambu trek begins at Sundarijal, a beautiful destination near Kathmandu. As soon as the trek kicks off it begins to reward with the Himalayan views and typical rural culture of Nepalese mid-hills. The trek winds through the mid-hill villages of central Nepal, which surround Kathmandu Valley and hence the trek caters the great views of deep valleys including Kathmandu. Hike from Sundarijal towards Kutumsang from where you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes. From Kutumsang we hike through dense rhododendron and fir forests and reach Thadapati. From Thadapati, we hike along the Melamchi river to reach Melamchi village – home to local Sherpas. We pass along the Sherpa settlements to reach Tarke Ghyang.

    A beautiful Tamnag village indside Helambu. Passing Tarke Ghynag, we move towards Melamchi Gaon, and start to explore the village of Melamchi. From Melamchi Gaon, we pass along Sarmanthang to reach Ama Yangri Peak. From Ama Yangri Peak we observe the breathtaking Sunset view. Ama Yangri Peak is also known as “Mother of Goddess” by local people. After enjoying the sunset at Ama Yangri Peak, we hike towards Melamchi Bazar.  Exploring tea-houses along the way and enjoy the hot teas. From Melamchi Bazar we drive back to Kathmandu.
