In the evening, take a relaxed stroll around Thamel and nearby shops and try traditional Nepali food. This day is for the rest, a briefing about the trek and preparing yourself for the upcoming adventure.

On Day 02, you will be embarking on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, after an early breakfast by the rivers and hills of the rural villages. From here, the ride continues on a local jeep towards Dharapani. It takes you along the Marsyangdi River and fields of beautiful countryside. As you reach Dharapanu, it marks the start of your trek in the beautiful, fresh mountain air with lots of excitement.

Today’s journey takes you through the thick pine forests, rewarding to the spectacular views of Annapurna and Lamjung Himal. You walk past small settlements and suspension bridges across the Marsyandgi River. The landscape grows more spectacular as you gain altitude. As you arrive in Chame, the main district headquarters of Manang, you get a cosy teahouse facility. From this place, you enjoy the magnificent mountain scenery surrounding the village.

After leaving Chame, you hike through forests and rocky paths, offering stunning views of Annapurna II. The trail steadily ascends, the valley expanding with the stunning mountain vistas. You will arrive at Upper Pisang, a traditional village with Tibetan-style houses and monasteries, by crossing a long suspension bridge. The peaceful setting and unobstructed mountain views make this one of the best days of the trek.

On Day 05, you trek to the high trail of the Manang, which provides stunning views of Annapurna, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak. The trail goes through Ghyaru and Ngwal villages, which are rich in culture and tradition. As you get close to Manang, the scenery gets drier and more alpine. Manang is a picturesque mountain village where you will spend the night to acclimatize for higher altitudes.

This is a significant day to rest and acclimatize to help get used to the higher altitude. You can take a proper rest day in Manang, but if you want to do something else, go visit the nearby viewpoints, such as Gangapurna Lake, or continue up to a higher altitude area and head back. These short treks allow your body to adjust and lower the chances of altitude sickness. From this point, you see great Himalayan views and a peaceful ambiance, along with an introduction to the local culture.

The views of snow-capped peaks do not disappoint as you climb higher. After reaching Yak Kaharka, you will rest for preparation for another day of the trek.

Today, you start your journey with a slow climb up to Thorang Phedu, the famous place to stop before proceeding on the Thorang La Pass. The trail is narrow and passes over small streams, landslide areas, and alpine landscapes. The air is thinner when you climb higher, so you will walk at a steady pace. The surrounding areas are packed with stunning mountain vistas. As you arrive at Thorang Phedi, a place to spend the night before crossing the tough mountain pass.

This is the hardest and most rewarding day of the trek. The walk begins before dawn, as you steadily climb to Thorang La Pass (5,416 m), one of the world’s highest trekking passes. From the top, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulgiri ranges. After celebrating your achievement, you make the steep descent down to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site of both Hindus and Buddhists.

From Muktinath, you will descend through the dry and windy landscapes of the Muktinath region. The trails lead through traditional villages and provide unique views of the Kali Gandaki Valley. While you move towards Jomsom, the weather turns desert-like, giving an appearance to a barren and landlocked area due to the peaks that shadow over. Reaching Jomsom, a vibrant town with modern amenities, where you can rest before proceeding further.

Today, you will walk alongside the Kali Gandaki River, passing through delightful Thakalu villages. Along the route, you notice a gradual shift in the landscape from giant Himalayas to small hills, offering stunning views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri mountains. The landscape becomes more vibrant and greener as you descend. Upon reaching Kalapani, a quiet place in the natural beauty, welcomes you a perfect resting place after a beautiful trekking day.

The walk continues down through forests, waterfalls, and traditional settlements. As you descend, you notice a change in the climate as it gets warmer. In the same way, as you approach Tatopani, a well-known natural hot spring, you can take a restful time in the hot natural spring water. It is best to relieve your muscles after multiple days of hiking and take a relaxing rest in an amazing environment.

Today is a long uphill climb through terraced fields and vibrant rhododendron forests. The path winds through terraced farmlands, providing magnificent vistas of the surrounding mountains. As you ascend, the air feels cooler and fresher. Arriving at Ghorepani, a popular rest stop for trekkers, you will be immersed in the Himalayan scenery and ready yourself for the sunrise hike to Poon Hill.

On Day 14, you will take a short morning hike to Poon Hill for an incredible sunrise view over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The view of golden light over the snow-capped peaks is unforgettable. After soaking in the views, you return to Ghorepani for breakfast and start a long descent through forests and villages down to Nayapul. This day’s trek is long and the last trekking day of your journey.

The drive takes you through scenic rivers, hills, and passes by small towns.
