Poon Hill Trek Duration, Distance, and Route Details

However, it all depends on the starting point and route you choose. But most of the trekkers start their journey from Nayaul or Ulleri, passing through scenic villages such as Tikhedhunga and Ghorepani.

From here, you will be taking a short morning hike towards Poon Hill viewpoint at 3,210 m, offering a mix of well-marked and uneven trails. The route provides you perfect mix of nature and culture. Along the way, you walk through blooming rhododendron forests and terraced farmlands, offering you a quiet atmosphere.

Similarly, as you begin your trek, you cross through several traditional Gurung and Magar villages. Each day involves walking for about 4 to 7 hours, through beautiful landscapes. The return journey follows through Ghandruk back to Pokhara, offering you enough time to spend your quality time in Pokhara.

Day by day Itinerary

Arrival at international airport in Kathmandu, meet our representative, short drive to Hotel, refreshment time, if you arrive early day or morning our guide take you for short walk in the Kathmandu city where you can explore local markets, trading and day life of Nepali. Hotel on B/B plan.

Drive to Pokhara by private transport or by tourist bus. That takes about 6 to 7 hours. Afternoon free time, around Pokhara Fewa Lake side exploration. Hotel B/B plan.

The day of Beginning. After car, easy walk along the modi river bank to Birethanti. check the permit and follow left side right bak of Bhurungdi river. Birethanti/Nayapul is hub of the whole Annapurna and Ghorepani area like market place. Walk along the river side and Gurung villages you will cross some beautiful water falls. Reach to Ramghai village we make lunch on local restaurant. Then continue climb up to Hile to Tikhe Dhunga village about 4 to 5 hours trek.

Trekking to Ghorepani via Ulleri village, After breakfast, we trek our hardest part step up to Ulleri village with in 1.3 hours then we reach about 2000m. Continue trek to Banthanti we make lunch. Then continue forest walk to Ghorepani 2800m within 6 to 7 hours including lunch. lodge.

Early morning, getup with your flash light and hike to Poon Hill 3210m, it takes about 1 hour to reach the top of Poon hill view point for sunrise Himalaya view. Experience the mountain sunrise with panorama including the mighty mountain summit of Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri Mt. Manaslu range with rhododendron forest valley. Back to Hotel, trek to Ghandruk village along the ridge of den forest another 6 to 7 hours. Stay at Ghandruk village.

After breakfast, Visit the famous Gurung tribes village and get the surroundings best view, Gurung culture museum and the local Buddhist temple. Then, a short hiking down to Nayapul via rice terrace and paddy farms. The Ghandruk to Nayapul hike takes abut 4 hours. Then drive back to Pokhara and transfer to hotel. Free afternoon to explore fewa lake and pokhara lake side.
