Home Tibet Tibet Tour Package

Tibet, a perfect high-altitude region on the Tibetan Plateau of East Asia, is mostly known as the “Roof of the World,” and offers a unique blend of Tibetan Buddhism, mesmerizing Himalayan geography, and a wide range of cultures, making this a must-visit destination for every traveler.

Tibet, also known as the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, covers over 1.2 million square kilometers with a population of around 3.6 – 3.65 million, as per the 2020 census. The Tibetan Plateau is considered the world’s highest and largest plateau, with an average elevation of over 4,500 meters (14,800 ft).

Tibet serves as the home to Mount Everest from the North Side, as this spot even includes major rivers like (Yarlung Tsangpo/ Brahmaputra, Mekong, Yangtze), deep valleys, and peaceful lakes. Tibet is still considered to be a bucket list adventure for many travelers, despite having some challenges.

Culture and Religion of Tibet

Tibet includes a high number of Tibetan Buddhists, mainly Vajrayana (Tantric Buddhism). Even the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader, has lived in exile in India since 1957, symbolizing Tibetan culture.

Tibet even includes a rich heritage, as travelers can explore places such as the Potala Palace, ancient monasteries filled with murals, and unique statues. The major cuisine of this region includes barley flour (tsampa), yak meat, dairy products, and tea with butter and salt.

The major festivals celebrated by the people of Tibet are Losar (New Year), Shoton, and the Bathing festival, which often includes performing dances. During this time, they put on their traditional clothing, Chupa, which is worn by the Tibetans today, especially in the diaspora.

Best Time to Reach Tibet

The best time to visit Tibet is from April – October, as these times are considered to be peak months, attracting many travelers from around the world. However, Spring (March – May) and Autumn (September – October) are the most ideal times for your Tibet Tour.

These times reward you with unforgettable experiences, as the weather is predictable, temperature is moderate, and skies are clear. At these times, the trails are also well-managed with proper facilities and accommodations along the way. These times are even perfect to take on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
